Officials of the Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department Monday seized 88 gms of heroin in Champai district and arrested two women.
Two women of Tawipui village in south Mizoram's Lunglei district were arrested for alleged possession of the drugs worth around Rs 4.40 lakh in the local market, the department spokesman said.
The two accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and produced before a district judge in Champhai.
The judge remanded them to judicial custody for 14 days.
