89th Raising Day of MNS:Lt Gen Hooda greets staffers, officers

Army's Northern Command Chief Lt Gen D S Hooda extended his greetings to the staffers and officers of Military Nursing Service (MNS) as they celebrated the 89th Raising Day at Command Hospital in Udhampur district today.
"The nursing officers of Military Nursing Service at Command Hospital Udhampur today celebrated their 89th Raising Day," Defence Spokesman said.
On this occasion, Lt Gen Hooda extended his greetings to all MNS officers and their families, staffers of MNS in the Command Zone, he said
Military Nursing Service plays an important role in providing effective nursing care to the sick and wounded. "MNS is an integral and glorious service of Defence Forces with an enduring ability to deliver effective nursing care to the sick and wounded, despite all constraints. The mission of MNS is 'excellence in patient care both in war and peace', which is pursued with utmost fervour, zeal and zest," he said.
Formed on 1 October, 1926, as a permanent nursing service for Indian soldiers, MNS has become an important component of the defence forces.
"MNS officers' valuable contribution to the armed forces has been well appreciated both in India and abroad. MNS officers have not only achieved professional efficiency but have also rendered quality service with dedication," he said.
