Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar told the Lok Sabha that part-time employment is not the policy of the central government and it wants to make the teachers' appointment permanent.
"Our policy is permanent employment. Therefore, in the Delhi University case, where there were more than 9,000 ad-hoc posts, we have made it compulsory and there was a court case also. Now, the solution is that within one year, all these posts will be made permanent and not temporary," he said during Question Hour.
"So, there is no discrimination and we want to fill up these posts and we have taken many measures to fill all these vacancies," he said.
Javadekar said the HRD ministry has been monitoring the teachers recruitment process regularly and it is a continuous process.
