9 killed, 4 injured in a road accident

At least nine people were killed and four others injured today in a traffic accident involving four vehicles on a desert highway in Alexandria, state media reported.
Four vehicles were involved in the accident which included two trucks, a truck trailer, and a microbus, MENA news agency reported.
Egypt has the highest rate of road accidents and related deaths in the Middle East, with an average of 12,000 deaths and over 40,000 injured persons annually according to a World Health Organisation report.
