9-yr kidnapped boy, man rescued in West Garo Hills

In a joint operation Assam and Meghalaya Police have rescued a nine-year old boy and a man from the captivity of their abductors in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, an Assam police spokesman said today.
The operations, launched in close coordination between local police in West Garo Hills and an Assam police team from Goalpara and Dhubri districts on Wednesday, led to the rescue of Md Farid Ali, son of Md Subhan Ali of Datalpara, who had been missing since July two from Fatasil Ambari Police Station area, the spokesman said.
The other person Md Amizur Rahman of Guwahati, missing since July 4, was also rescued on the same Wednesday. He was rescued after police conducted search operations at various places - Tikrikilla, Phulbari and other places in Meghalaya and Lahkipur and Bilasipara in Goalpara and Dhubri districts of Assam.
Six arrested persons have been identified as Moinul Islam of Fakiragram in Dhubri, Md Amzad Ali of Lakhipur in Goalpara, Md Abdul Sattar of Phulbari in West Garo Hills, Md Jahirul Islam of Char Batapara in West Garo Hills, Md Mofijul Haque of Gaibondha in Goalpara and Md Nur Islam of Bherbheri Puthimari in Goalpara.
The arrested persons are members of a gang involved in kidnapping for ransom and manhunt was on to nab the other members, the spokesman said.
