The charter, released yesterday by CSR and Asia Foundation, urges boys and men to engage in dialogues on gender perceptions around masculinity and femininity.
"The charter urges men to become agents of change and say no to all forms of violence against women. It calls upon them not to use abusive language that targets women and promotes a culture of misogyny, and to rally around opinion leaders who create healthy gender definitions," CSR director Ranjana Kumari said.
The 10-point charter highlights role of international gender movements, engagement with LGBT community, importance of stakeholders in policy change, role of arts and culture and their ability to influence mainstream bias, attitude towards inherent involvement in promoting patriarchy and female subservience.
Kumari said they would send the charter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and request them "to kick-start this noble change process" and advise various departments to display it prominently.
