Swaraj Abhiyan today claimed to have forced a liquor vend in Karawal Nagar to shut down with the help of locals as it had become a "public nuisance".
On August 24, Swaraj Abhiyan had held a public hearing against the vend in the constituency of Delhi Culture Minister Kapil Mishra.
"The local MLA Kapil Mishra was then forced to perform theatrics in the name of organising Mohalla Sabha before announcing that the vend will be closed. But even after all this, the liquor shop did not close down, though repeated attempts were made by the residents," the Swaraj Abhiyan said.
The organisation led by expelled AAP leaders Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav said it would now forcibly shut down thekas that have been opened without public consent.
