Rahman sang a couple of his own numbers like 'Dil Se' and concluded the three-and-half hour musical show last night with the rendition of his 'Vande Mataram' composition.
Over 30,000 people enjoyed the musical night at Navlakhi compound of the 125-year-old Lakshmi Vilas Palace in the city.
On the occasion, Rahman said, "My wife is from Gujarat and I love singing here and composed a Gujarati song for the Vadfest."
State finance and industries minister Saurabh Patel presented a memento to the 'Mozart of Madras' and said, "Rahman has shown his willingness to perform in Gujarat whenever needed."

Well-known percussionist Sivamani also gave a solo performance on his drums.
With 50 events, across 15 venues over a period of four days, VadFest 2015 is one of India's biggest multi-arts, multi-venue culture festivals, Patel said.
Noted artists from across India and around the world, including world famous Greek music composer and instrumentalist Yanni, graced the cityscape for the four-day celebration of art, music, dance, drama, culture, food and a special kids' theatre fest that began on January 23.
