Safdarjung observatory, which gives the official reading for the city, showed 4.9 mm rainfall till 8.30 AM while areas under Lodhi Road, Palam, Ridge and Aayanagar recorded 9.5 mm, 9.5 mm, 5.8 mm and 14 mm rainfall respectively during the same period, said a Met department official.
Traffic snarls due to water logging were reported from some parts of the city.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average, the official said.
The Met office has predicted light rains and thunderstorm accompanied by squall for today.

"The skies will be partly cloudy. Light rain and thunderstorm accompanied by squall are likely to occur today," the weatherman said.
"The maximum temperature is likely to hover at 34 degrees," he added.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.7 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperatures settled at 24 degrees Celsius.
Nearly 40 flights scheduled for arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here last evening were diverted to other nearby airports due to the bad weather in the national capital.
