A union of Delhi-based cab drivers today announced to launch an app next month to give a "tough competition" to app-based taxi service providers Uber and Ola.
The Union - Chaalak Shakti - will launch the app named 'Sewa Cab' on April 7 in the national capital, a representative of the union said, claiming that thousands of drivers will come under the ambit of the app.
"We will launch our app on April 7. As of now, work has started on the app which will run just like the ones of Uber and Ola," Pawan, a representative of Chaalak Shakti said.
Last month, thousands of drivers associated with Ola and Uber had gone on an indefinite strike against "lack of facilities" their employers provide to them.
The strike had caused hardships to cummuters in the city.
Union said once the app is launched, the drivers will not have to go on strikes again, demanding such basic facilities.
