AAI considering to operate Boeing 777-200 plane from Calicut

The proposal to operate Boeing 777-200 aircraft from the airport to Gulf countries is under the active consideration of the Airport Authority of India (AAI).
A team of DGCA and AAI officials who had visited the airport on April 26 and found that Boeing 777-200is compatible for operations as its requirements were close to the lenght of the airport, it said.
The team also recommended to carry out a compatible study to be performed collaboratively between the stake holders who include aerodrome operator, airplane operator, ground handling agency and air navigation provider, for operations of the aircraft.
The operations Boeing B-747, B-777 and Airbus A-330 and other wide-bodied aircrafts under code-E, from the Calicut airport remain suspended since May, 2015.
