AAP criticises BJP 'silence' on Godse statue demand
Press Trust of India New Delhi The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today criticised the Centre for its "silence" on the issue of Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha's demands for installing busts of Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse in different parts of the country.
"The silence of the central government and the BJP on the condemnable statement of the Hindu Mahasabha that it wants to install the bust of Mahatma Gandhi's assassin at public places, is extremely shocking," the AAP said in a statement.
"Such absurd statements from organisations like Hindu Mahasabha are on the rise and the silence of the BJP's central government only appears to be encouraging their nefarious designs," the party said.
The party added that it is beyond imagination that any individual or organisation could make a public statement of installing the busts of Godse and could get away with it.
