The Aam Aadmi Party today criticised TV channels for showing alleged "doctored" videos in the JNU row, even as it expressed satisfaction over the granting of interim bail to JNUSU leader Kanhaiya Kumar in a sedition case.
AAP's Delhi unit convenor Dilip Pandey said granting of interim bail to Kanhaiya isn't his victory till the time those behind the fake videos are out.
"Interim bail is not the victory of Kanhaiya. The democracy will remain defeated and shameful till the time those behind the fake don't go in jail," Pandey said.
The Delhi High Court today granted interim bail for six months to Kanhaiya but said the FIR lodged in connection with an on-campus event that led to his arrest on sedition charge suggested it "is a case of raising anti-national slogans which do have the effect of threatening national integrity".
A Delhi government-ordered forensic probe of a set of video clippings of the controversial JNU event has found that two videos were "manipulated" where voices of persons not present in the clips were added.
Senior party leader Ashutosh said there should be a probe on who doctored the videos as it was a "serious" matter.
"Will there be any action on those who telecasted the fake videos," Ashutosh said.
