The party also alleged that the state is yet to take care of another constable Narender, who sustained injuries in the same attack in the early hours of Monday and is admitted in Gangaram Hospital here.
"Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung's announcement to provide Rs 1 crore to the family of Delhi Police martyr constable Jagbir Singh is a step partially in the right direction," a party spokesperson said.
Jagbir was killed and Narender was seriously injured after miscreants opened fire at them at outer Delhi's Vijay Vihar area in the wee hours of Monday.
The party said if Union Home Ministry and the LG are serious in improving policing in the national capital, they must immediately address the problems being faced by the police personnel.
"The AAP demands that maximum working hours for police personnel in a day must be clearly specified and implemented. A special medical scheme must be announced for them. Their housing and living conditions must be improved," the spokesperson said.
