Senior AAP leader Dilip Pandey also demanded a CBI probe into the matter and said that Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari should apologise to Delhiites for his "failure" in preventing corruption in BJP-led municipal corporations.
"The file pertaining to tender is not approved unless the the north Delhi mayor gets commission. In its recent press conference, the AAP had said that Mayor Preety Agarwal influenced the tendering process," Pandey told reporters here.
"In order to ensure fair probe into the matter, Manoj Tiwari should either take the resignation of Preeti Agarwal or there should be CBI inquiry," Pandey said.
At a press conference later, Preety Agarwal, accompanied by Delhi BJP general secretary and former north Delhi mayor Ravinder Gupta, rejected the allegation as "baseless", saying it carries "no truth".
Gupta claimed that it is all a "propaganda" and "conspiracy" by the Aam Aadmi Party to divert attention when there are corruption allegations against Health Minister Satyendar Jain.
