The girl, hailing from Akaltara, attempted suicide on January 22 after she was blackmailed with the video clip and repeatedly abused by a group of men for almost a year, AAP said in a statement here.
Despite the BJP's hue and cry against the Congress government over the Delhi gang-rape case, the party claimed, the Chhattisgarh government was shoving the case under the carpet as the accused belonged to influential families.
"The victim was admitted to hospital in a very serious condition. Police did not record her statement even after her condition improved.
"Friends and family of the rapists continued to visit the victim at the hospital to put pressure on the family members of the victim. Yet no action was taken by Akaltara police," the statement said.
AAP claimed it was only after proactive intervention by the party that the statement of the victim was finally recorded by police.
The party-led by Arvind Kejriwal has demanded BJP to take stern action against the accused and take corrective measures at the earliest.
