He also termed the party's current phase as most "vulnerable" and compared it to a transition from childhood to adulthood, which is why the two-year-old party was facing such problems.
"It's a two-year-old party. The party is under-going a transition phase from an agitation mindset to transformation to a full-fledged political party," Ashutosh said during a debate on the 2014 (general) and 2015 (Delhi) elections organised by Political Science Department of Hindu College here.
"This is the most vulnerable phase of the party as it is growing up. There is a difference between agitation and running a political party.
"Most of our volunteers and leaders are from that background. So different people have different opinions on how the party should be. That is the fundamental reason for this situation. This is a clash of ideas and it will remain.
Ashutosh added that the BJP too faced a similar problem when Atal-Advani era ended and saw a dawn of Narendra Modi's era.
