Having won 67 of 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party is now aiming to replicate the same in the May 15 MCD by-polls in 13 wards.
Although it has contested two Assembly polls in the national capital - in 2013 and 2015 - this will be AAP's maiden electoral contest in the civic-body elections.
The party has been highlighting "BJP's corruption" and "rotten" state of affairs in the civic bodies.
"BJP is running the MCD. The main work of the MCD is to clean drains, parks. If they have not been able to do it then who will do it," AAP's Delhi unit convenor Dilip Pandey said.
The party is focusing on improving the standard of MCD schools and cleanliness in the city.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal did not campaign for the MCD by-polls, but the party had pressed in its MLAs, and top leaders including Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and Water Minister Kapil Mishra for canvasing support for its candidates.
