The disciplinary committee of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) here has served a notice to senior leader Sanjay Singh asking him to clarify reports of him bringing ousted and suspended leaders back to the party fold.
"Air is thick with rumours that around 23 ousted and suspended party leaders, who indulged in anti-party activities, have been welcomed back," Member of disciplinary committee of AAP's Punjab unit, Pranav Rai said in a letter sent to Singh yesterday.
The state executive committee of the party is apathetic over the issue, he alleged, demanding to know the procedure followed and documents referred to roll back the suspensions.
"Neither executive committee nor disciplinary committee had any information about the roll back," he stated, adding that this misconception should be cleared among party workers.
His letter came in wake of media reports saying Singh has welcomed the suspended and ousted members to the party fold.
Rai, however, said that he was not updated on any such development and believes that someone might have circulated the "misleading" news through a fake social media account of Chhotepur (AAP's state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur).
"The party resolves its issues internally but the workers have the right to know the procedures followed to roll-back the suspension and expulsion order," he told PTI when asked about the letter.
Notably, AAP had suspended 22 party leaders in Punjab including Former spokesperson Prof Manjit Singh and Baldip Singh and expelled Organising committee member Jyoti Mann for anti-party activities in past 10 months.
