The AAP government today said that it will soon provide relief to power consumers by extending a subsidy.
Power minister Satyendra Jain today held a meeting with officials of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) and it is understood that the government conveyed to the power officials that electricity tariffs should not be increased till the CAG audit of discoms was completed.
"The government will take a decision soon to give subsidy for power," a statement here said.
Jain said that the AAP government will try to provide round-the-clock power to Delhiites at cheap rates. In its election manifesto, AAP had promised to slash power bills by 50 per cent.
Meanwhile, all six Cabinet ministers of the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government have held review meetings with the officials of their respective departments.
