Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today directed the Finance department to freeze the release of funds to 28 colleges following non formation of the governing bodies.
Sisodia alleged that the Delhi University (DU) is "not willing" to have governing bodies in these colleges.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari alleged that governing bodies in the colleges were not formed because the AAP was pushing for the entry of its workers.
Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta claimed that the move will "jeopardise" the future of 50,000 students enrolled in the affected 28 colleges.

"Since Delhi government had sent a number of controversial names which did not meet the required norms and the governing bodies could not being finalised by DU," he claimed.
