AAP stages protest across Punjab in support of Naresh Yadav

Aam Aadmi Party today held protests at district headquarters across Punjab to oppose the arrest of its Delhi MLA Naresh Yadav terming it a part of a "deep rooted conspiracy of Badals" against the party.
In a statement, Punjab's AAP state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur termed the arrest as political vendetta.
Chhotepur claimed Badals have nothing to show in their report card now and are unable to cope up with anti-incumbency in the state.
"The case against Yadav is just a political vendetta of Badal. The accused Vijay Kumar himself admitted being associated with VHP but police pressurised him to name AAP leader in the desecration case. Naresh Yadav had been fully cooperating in the police enquiry and will continue to do that. The people are fully aware of the acts of the Badals and will reply to them in 2017," Chhotepur claimed.

The protesting leaders handed over a memorandum addressed to President of India to the deputy commissioners concerned.

Sadbhavna Manch has extended support to the party.
Under the leadership of Harpal Singh Pannu and Barinderbir Singh Nanda, a delegation of Manch today met the State Convener of AAP Gurpreet Singh Waraich (Ghuggi), MP Bhagwant Mann and In-charge of AAP's affairs in Punjab Sanjay Singh to discuss the burning issues of Punjab and in the larger of interest of Punjab extended unconditional support to AAP.
The delegation comprises Pannu, Barinderbir Singh Nanda, Ravinder Kaur Sidhu (Kiddu), Gurjit Singh Khalsa, Mohammed Habib, Dr Arvinder Rituraj, Onkar Singh, Deepshika, Mohammed Rafi, Hari Singh Patiala, Sukhdev Singh, Hardyal Shikva, Amrit Singh Nabha, Maninder Singh Kohli, Gurcharan Singh Nabha and Mahitab Inder Singh Sidhu, a statement said.

On the occasion Pannu and Barindebir Singh Nanda said that the Manch is of the opinion that AAP does not indulge in politics of religion and respects all religions.
They said that under the prevailing political situation, BJP and Congress are two national political parties, which are "polarising" the people on the basis of religion to take political mileage, thus the Manch has decided to extend unconditional support to AAP.
They said that earlier they met National Convener of AAP and Delhi Chief Minister Arvinder Kejriwal to discuss issues pertaining to Punjab.
