Stepping up the attack on NDMC vice-chairman Karan Singh Tanwar over the death of its assistant legal officer M M Khan, the AAP today alleged that the Delhi Cantonment Board has accused Tanwar of "provoking religious sentiments and disturbing peace."
The party also sought to drag East Delhi BJP MP Maheish Girri into the matter and alleged that even he has written a letter to the LG in favour of owner of 'Hotel Connaught', who was arrested on the charges of murdering Khan.
However, the party did not elaborate further on details of letter by Girri.
Addressing a news conference, AAP's Delhi unit convenor Dilip Pandey said the Cantonment Board in its meeting on May 13 had made very "stinging remarks" against Tanwar.
The party had earlier alleged that Tanwar had threatened Khan with dire consequences, a few days before his murder and demanded the Delhi Police arrest him and probe his "complicity" with the murderers. It also said that Tanwar had written a letter to LG seeking action against Khan.
Khan was shot dead on May 16, a day before he was scheduled to pass the final order on the lease terms of hotel 'The Connaught' which was functioning on a property leased by the civic body.

Police last week arrested the owner of hotel, Ramesh Kakkar, and five others in connection with the murder.
Reading out the minutes of the meeting held on May 13, Pandey said a decision was taken "to inform the office of the Lt Governor about the inappropriate conduct of Tanwar by spreading false rumours and trying to provoke religious sentiments and disturbing peace for political gains and malicious and false propaganda against the Board."
Pandey said the a decision was also taken to initiate "stern legal action" for defaming the Board and for his derogatory allegations.
"It (the meeting by the board) has also asked the authorities to initiate all legal action against him as per relevant provisions of the Cantonments Act, 2006 and other applicable civil and criminal law,"
"The Board was also of the view that Karan Singh Tanwar should restrict his activities to the NDMC only of which he is the vice-chairman.
"He may also may also be allowed to the meet the CEO in his office with prior appointment only and he shall be accompanied by one person only in his meeting with the CEO," Pandey said, further reading out the order," Pandey said.
