Aam Admi Party (AAP) will organise its maiden volunteer convention' in Chandigarh on January 12 to be addressed by party's National Executive member Yogendra Yadav, party sources said here today.
Several people have desired to actively volunteer with AAP for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and thereafter. Nearly 10,000 members have registered from Chandigarh, said Rajeev Godara, Central Observor for AAP's Chandigarh unit.
In the convention, Yadav will be addressing volunteers in Chandigarh and interact with various social groups, he added.
"Prof Yadav wants to share the importance, lessons and learning of the Delhi elections and brainstorm ways of replicating the AAP phenomena across the country," he said.
He said AAP wants to bring home the point that the party is not a substitute, but an alternative, which engages in alternative politics, not seen in mainstream politics since the JP movement.
Yadav will also be interacting with party volunteers and groups and representatives from across Punjab and Haryana, Godara said.
