"We will hold 'satyagraha' from August 16 at Jantar Mantar. We would fast from morning to evening and would observe silence and raise pertinent questions hurting the party," said Karan Singh, who was recently expelled from AAP for anti-party activities and had formed AVAM after party's debacle in the Lok Sabha election.
Differences between AVAM, which is said to have backing of several volunteers, and the party also reflect the schism over various issues, including lack of voice to the volunteers, which the group alleges. Of its many demands, the group has been asking for implementation of Swaraj within the party.
"AVAM is a concept which intends to bring all volunteers, leaders or grassroots, under one banner so that communication link is not broken, decision making process becomes transparent and participatory and cleanliness is maintained in party politics as it is formed to set an example of clean politics," Singh added.
