Aayush, Kundana in line for double crown

Aayush Bhat of Karnataka and Kundana Bandaru of Tamil Nadu lined themselves up for a double crown by entering the singles finals and lifting the doubles title at the 11th Ramesh Desai Memorial Junior Tennis Nationals for Boys and Girls under 12 today.
In the boys singles final, top seeded Aayush will take on fifth seeded Arunava Majumdar of West Bengal .
In the semifinals Aayush outplayed Eapen Joshua of Maharashtra 6-2, 6-0, while Arunava ended the good run of giant killer Skandha Rao of Karnataka 7-5, 6-1.
In the boys doubles final Bhat teamed up with Gujarat lad Aryan Shah to score a 3-6,6-3,10-5 win over Wyatt Obrien and Arunava Majumdar.

In the girls Under 12 it was a bad day for the state players.
Top seeded Siddhi Khandelwal of Gujarat stopped the winning run of giant killer Sonal Patil of Kolhapur 6-1,6-3 , while unseeded Kundana upset second seeded Pari Singh 6-3,6-3 to make it to the summit round.
In the girls doubles final Kundana tied up with S R Ananya, also of Tamil Nadu, to sneak past Abhaya and Apurva Vemuri of Telangana 3-6 ,6-4, 10-8.
