The police today rescued a boy who was kidnapped on Monday and arrested four of his abductors from Munger district.
Acting on electronic surveillance of the kidnappers, the police raided a hide out at Ghorakund locality in Dhapri forest and rescued the abducted boy Vivek Bind (12) and arrested four abductors, Munger Superintendent of Police (SP) Varun Kumar said.
The four kidnappers were identified as Ranjan Chaudhary, Akhilesh Kumar, Vakil Kumar and Santosh Kumar, the SP said.
The kidnappers had abducted two boys Chitaranjan Bind and Vivek Bind from Fasiabad village on June 16 last for ransom, but released Chitaranjan on the same day near Gangta forest after getting to know about poor financial condition of his family, police said.
The abductors kept Vivek in their custody for two days and demanded Rs five lakh as ransom from his mother Lalita Devi, who is an Anganwadi Sevika, the SP said.
On the complaint of the woman the police swung into action and put mobile phones of the kidnappers on electric surveillance before nabbing them and rescuing the boy from their clutches.
Both, the abducted boys and abductors, hailed from the same village, Fasiabad, Kumar said.
