"Both the businessman and his driver have been rescued from Bolangir," Sundergarh Superintendent of Police Nikhil Kanodia said.
The case was cracked after the police conducted the probe from different angles, he said.
However, the SP declined to provide details about how the case was cracked saying the investigation was still on and more information would be disclosed at an appropriate time.
Pratik Patodia, who is said to be in his 40s, was abducted on June 22 by unidentified persons while he was going to visit his textile plant near Sundergarh town here, the police said.
Later, his employees at the factory inquired about his arrival and they launched a search operation. His vehicle was found near Beramahal, on the State Highway-10, few kilometres from Sundergarh-Jharsuguda border.
Subsequently, police formed special teams to handle the case.
