The Madras High Court today directed
police to provide it with the latest information on the alleged abduction of a school girl and asked the SP of Thiruvannamalai to appear before it on Friday.
A division bench of justices S Nagamuthu and M Sathyanarayanan gave the direction on a habeas corpus petition by the father of the 16-year-old girl, who was allegedly kidnapped by a group of people on December 13, 2015.
The petitioner submitted that he came to know that Suresh,
who was working with him earlier, along with some others came to his house on December 13, 2015, when he and his wife were not there.
When he approached the Inspector of Police of Kizhkodungalur Police Station the same day and urged that his daughter's life was in danger, police registered an FIR under "girl missing" without mentioning the name Suresh, the petitioner said.

However, till date there was no response from the Inspector of Police and Superintendent of Police and the "inaction" of them was a clear contravention of Article 21 of the Constitution of India and relevant provisions of Criminal Procedure Code", he contended.
"The above HCP is in pending from December 2015. The minor
girl was kidnapped on 13.12.2015. The status report filed by the investigation officer on February 16 revealed that there is no clue about the whereabouts of the girl and no information that the girl has been found".
"We are concerned with safety and security of the minor
girl. It appears that the Superintendent of Police is not taking any serious steps. When we made a specific query to the Assistant Public Prosecutor about who have come to give instructions, the APP said that nobody has turned up."
"APP is directed to inform the Superintendent of Police,
Thiruvannamalai to present before the court to give the latest information," the bench said and posted the matter to Friday.
