Abdul Malik Baloch becomes new Balochistan CM

Abdul Malik Baloch formally took over as the new Chief Minister of restive Balochistan today as violence continued to plague Pakistan's largest province.
The Balochistan Assembly formally elected National Party (NP) chief Malik Baloch as chief minister on a day when police found five bullet-riddled bodies in different parts of the province.
Malik Baloch took oath after he was elected unopposed as the chief minister of the province which will have a coalition government that includes the Pakistan Muslim League (N), Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and the National Party.
Malik Baloch was the joint candidate of all three parties.
His election concludes the process of governments being formed at the centre and in all four provinces of the country.

Political analysts say the new CM faces stiff challenges as the province has been riddled by sectarian, separatist and militant violence for the last few years.

An indication of this came when five bullet-riddled bodies were recovered in different parts of the province with police having no clue as to who was behind the killings.
According to police sources, three bodies were found in Johan area of Kalat while two more bodies were found in Khuzdar town.
Talking to reporters today, Malik Baloch said his coalition government would adopt all possible measures for improving law and order and providing basic facilities to the people of the province.
