Absconding mastermind of IT job racket held

An alleged mastermind of a job racket in which fake appointment orders of IT companies were issued has been arrested, police said today.
A special team of city police arrested Abdul Suban, who was absconding yesterday. Two of his accomplices had already been held last year and are lodged in prison.
Police said, "Suban and the other two--Arvindraj and Saeed Salaudeen, were running a fake placement company here, assuring gullible IT job aspirants of securing employments for them in top companies in return for money.
They had cheated 14 persons of Rs 25.70 lakh and given them "fake" appointment orders, a City Police release said, adding, the arrests were made following a complaint by one of the victims in 2013.
Investigations revealed that between 2010 and 2013, they had also conducted campus interviews in engineering colleges in Poonamallee and Nerkundram areas, masquerading as the representatives of an IT firm.
They had received a total of Rs 50 lakh from 30 such job aspirants whom they "selected" before giving them fake appointment orders, it said, adding, complaints in this regard had already been pending against them.
Suban was remanded in judicial custody, the release said adding, job aspirants should not believe such persons who promise jobs for money.
