Absconding murder accused arrested in Thane

An accused in a murder case being probed by Aurangabad police was arrested in the neighbouring Thane city today.
Officers of Thane crime branch arrested Santosh Mahadeo More (29) near Cinewonder mall in Majiwada area this morning.
More, resident of Narayannagar in Aurangabad, is accused of murdering Anil Hawalsingh Sharma (32) at a hotel on Ahmednagar-Aurangabad road in January last year.
He suspected that Sharma was having affair with his wife and hence murdered him, according to the police.
More allegedly shot Sharma with a revolver, and later decapitated the body with the help of some others. The body and the severed head were dumped in separate places.

Aurangabad Rural police arrested More and nine others a few days after the murder, but More fled from police custody when he was being taken to court for remand hearing. One of the policemen on escorting duty was arrested for dereliction of duty.
Aurangabad police recently got a tip-off that More was living in Mumbai region and alerted Thane police who arrested him today.
