Two days after the ABVP caught an employee of the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU) here allegedly watching a porn clip in the office during duty hours, the varsity administration today said it has instituted a committee to probe the allegations.
On July 25, the activists of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) had found an employee of the university working in the examination section allegedly watching a porn clip ocomputer screen during office hours. The activists had even taken a photo of the employee watching the "porn" clip.
The activists met Vice Chancellor Dr Murlidhar Chandekar and brought this matter to his notice. They also showed the picture to the VC.
Talking to PTI, Chandekar said, "The ABVP activists met me yesterday and showed the photograph of the employee watching a girl's face on his computer screen. The activists alleged that he was watching a porn film on YouTube. I have seen that photograph, but it is not the proof enough to intiate action against the employee."
"I neither accept nor reject their (ABVP acticists') claim. They have submitted a memorandum to me and I have constituted a committee to probe the allegation. The question of not taking any action does not arise if the committee finds truth in the allegation," he said.
Dr Chandekar said that employees found indulging in such things during office hours would not be tolerated.
"Corrective measures would soon be taken up to discipline the staff," he said.
