ACB arrests three discom employees for taking bribes in Raj

Anti-corruption bureau today arrested three employees of power company JVVNL for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 to waive off power bill of a customer at Bhaterdi in Dholpur district, an ACB Spokesperson said here.
The accused were identified as Assistant Engineer Awadh Bihari Soni, Ali Hussain Saini, ARO, and meter reader Bhagirath posted at Bhaterdi, the spokesperson said.
The accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 13,000 from a client of flour machine operator for "adjusting" bill of Rs 64,000, which the complainant claimed was wrong, they said.
The deal was struck at Rs 10,000, and a trap was organised in which all of them were caught red handed, the spokesperson said.
A case under prevention of corruption act was lodged against the trio, they added.
