Rajasthan Anti Corruption Bureau today arrested a deputy director of Women and Child Development department for allegedly misappropriating government funds and resorting to various irregularities in distribution of nutrition diet in Aaganwadis in Nagaur district in collusion with contractors involved in the job, an ACB official said.
The ACB sleuths also recovered a sum of Rs 55,000, including Rs 40,000 of bribe money the deputy director Usha Rani Chaudhary had allegedly taken yesterday.
In a raid on 11 locations in the Nagaur district, the ACB also detained three private contractors, the official said.
During raids, on of the contractor Hari Singh was detained and Rs 50 lakh was seized from his residence in Degana area in the district, apart from records related to the irregularities, the official said.
The two other detained contractors include Kishore Baidra and Yogesh Daima, from whom incriminating documents have been recovered, the ACB said.
The deputy director and private unauthorised contractors were involved in gross irregularities in distribution of nutrition diet in Aaganwadis. The contractors were either not supplying nutrition diet or providing lower grade diet for at least last two years, ACB Ajmer division, SP Kailash Chand Vishnoi, said.

He said that 11 teams raided offices of child development, project officers and contractors.
An FIR was registered against five named accused and more names may be added during course of the investigation, he said, adding records of the last four years will be probed.
