Himachal Pradesh Vigilance and Anti- Corruption Bureau today registered a case against Bemloe Development and Infrastructure Company for alleged conspiracy, forging documents and cheating for wrongful gains from the government.
The builder, however, denied the allegations and asserted that nothing wrong or illegal had been done by the firm.
Vigilance Bureau sources said a criminal case under various sections of the IPC and Indian Forest Act has been registered here after preliminary enquiry showed that a forged application and false documents were prepared to cheat the government and cause it wrongful loss by hatching a criminal conspiracy.
Bureau officials said an unmetalled road had been widened so that vehicles could ply in the forest area flouting forest laws.
"During enquiry, it has been found that the road is not used by the applicants and the applicants have deposed that they have not signed the application containing request for repair and maintenance of the forest road and hence, prima facie it seems that the firm is the only beneficiary from the repair and maintenance of this path," the sources said.
Due to widening, the path can now be used for commercial purpose by selling flats constructed there by the company, which is illegal, they said.
