ACB nabs MSEDCL engineer for demanding and accepting a bribe
Press Trust of India Thane An additional executive engineer at Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd's (MSEDCL) Thane office who allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe from a farmer was caught red handed by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths while doing so, official sources said here today.
Superintendent of Police (ACB) Datta Karale said that additional executive engineer (Class 1) Ramdev Poma Chavan (46) is presently posted at the sub-divisional office of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) office at Lokmanyanagar.
Allegedly, he was caught accepting Rs 25,000 for reducing or totally cancelling the bill, official sources said.
