ACB nabs pharmacy council clerk for demanding, accepting bribe
Press Trust of India Thane A clerk with the Maharashtra Pharmacy Council who allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a complainant was nabbed by the Thane unit of the ACB today evening at Panch Rasta in Mulund, ACB sources said.
SP ACB Sandeep Karnik of the Thane ACB said that the clerk Dhanaji J Jadhav allegedly demand Rs 25,000 from the complainant for transfering his pharmacy licence from Bihar to Maharashtra.
After due deliberations, it was decided that a sum of Rs 20,000 would be paid for transfer of the licence.
The aggrieved complainant lodged a complaint with the ACB which trapped the clerk, sources said.
An offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the clerk at the local police station and investigations are on, officials said.
