ACB nets five AP govt employees for taking bribes

Five Andhra Pradesh government employees, including two police personnel and a Civil Supplies officer, were nabbed by ACB on the charge of taking bribes in separate cases reported across the state.
N Jwaala Prakash, Visakhapatnam district supply officer with the civil supplies department, was caught red handed by ACB sleuths yesterday when he was allegedly accepting Rs 3 lakh from an owner of a gas agency for doing an official favour, an ACB release said here today.
Prakash was subsequently arrested.
In another case, M Ramu, a head-constable and station writer with Traffic Police station in Srikakulam town, was caught this afternoon when he allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 4,000 through another police constable K Srinivasa Rao from a complainant.
In another case, V Sambashiva Rao, a Lineman with Electricity Department in Chittinagar of Vijayawada, was trapped by ACB when he allegedly took Rs 2,000 as bribe from a complainant.
Similarly, Ch V Satyanarayana, a horticulture sub-assistant at Mangalagiri in Guntur district, was caught while allegedly accepting Rs 6,000 in bribe, according to the release.
All cases are under investigation.
