ACB unearths Rs 3 crore assets of Boilers Department director

Assets worth about Rs 3 crore allegedly of a director of the Boilers Department in Telangana government were unearthed in searches conducted at various places today, ACB said.
A disproportionate assets case was registered against P Vijay Kumar, director in the state Department of Boilers following which simultaneous searches were conducted at residences belonging to him, his relatives and associates in the city and in Khammam district of the state, ACB Deputy SP Madhusudan Reddy said.
During searches, two flats, two independent houses, five residential plots, five acres agricultural land, two cars, 1.3 kg of gold ornaments, about 4 kg of silver articles, Rs 6 lakh in cash and FDs of Rs 6 lakh, totally valued at about Rs 3 crore as per documentary value were unearthed, while the market value is estimated to be worth Rs 10 crore, the DSP told PTI.
"We are still verifying...The bank accounts and lockers needs to be opened," the senior ACB officer said, adding, Kumar has been taken into custody.
Another ACB officer said calculations are underway and the actual value of disproportionate assets will be revealed only after investigations. The case is under investigation.
