Accused sent to police custody till Feb 20 in eve-teasing case

A local court today remanded one of the accused in the killing of a youth for protesting against eve-teasing in police custody till February 20.
Raju Tiwari was arrested by Howrah Police from Uttar Pradesh yesterday for allegedly killing Arup Bhandari of Salkia.
Tiwari was brought here today from Uttar Pradesh by Howrah police.
Amidst tight security, Tiwari was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Howrah, who sent Tiwari to police custody till February 20.
Arup, a 20-year-old college student, succumbed to injuries on Monday after he was beaten up for protesting against lewd comments passed at two girls during immersion of idols at the culmination of the Saraswati Puja.
