In a letter to Home Minister R R Patil, a copy of which was sent to CM Prithviraj Chavan, MPCC chief Manikrao Thakre said the government should take action against Raj and his partymen for violation of norms.
Thakre pointed out that Raj had organised a morcha after the August 11 violence in contravention of rules and also made inflammatory speeches aimed at creating a divide among people.
The government should act against such elements, Thakre said in the letter.
In a separate statement issued here this evening, MPCC spokesperson Sanjay Dutt expressed suspicion over the way the MNS chief announced he was withdrawing opposition to the 'Sur Kshetra' TV reality show featuring Pakistani artistes.
"There is a formula behind the way Raj Thackeray behaves. Even the common man is now realising this. It starts with Raj expressing extremist views, after which, MNS workers indulge in violence and later Raj holds closed door meeting and declares that he has had a change of heart," Dutt said.
