Taking cognizance of reports of unsatisfactory health services and poor facilities in the peripheral areas, state Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma yesterday made a surprise visit to various health institutions in Baramulla district.
Sharma ordered on-the-spot attachment of the CMO Baramulla with the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir and suspended the BMO Pattan with immediate effect, he said.
During his visit to health institutions in the district, the minister took a serious note of unsatisfactory health services and work culture which necessitated the action, the spokesman said.
He said a doctor has also been fined for not wearing the apron while on duty.
The minister issued stern warning to the doctors and para-medics to mend ways and deliver on ground as per the medical ethics, otherwise they will face action warranted under rules, the spokesman added.
