Actor Viju Khote to get 'P Savlaram Award'

Actor Viju Khote will be honoured with the 'Janakavi P Savlaram' award on December 20 here.
Thane Mayor Sanjay More made this announcement here yesterday.
Cine artist Leela Gandhi will be awarded the 'Ganga Jamuna' award at the event.
The 'Janakavi P Savalaram' award is given jointly by the 'Savlaram Kala Samiti' and Thane Municipal Corporation in the memory of the lyricist, who was also the president of the civic body.
The award, carrying a citation and Rs 25,000 in cash, will be given to Khote.
Viju Khote (Vittal Bapurao Khote) has worked as character actor in more than 300 films in Hindi cinema and Marathi cinema.

He is famous for his short role of dacoit Kalia in epic film "Sholay". On television, he is most remembered for his role in Zabaan Sambhalke (1993). He has also acted in Marathi theatre over the years.
