The actress, who starred in a number of hit movies, told reporters here yesterday, "It is a fact that generally actors and others are faced with financial crunch at one phase of their careers. It is appreciated if they are given help in acknowledgement of their contribution."
The recipient of Bengal's highest civilian award 'Banga Bibhushan' in 2014, Chatterjee, however, quickly explained that she was not speaking for herself.
"I am not talking of myself. I am still active and enjoying my acting stint," she said.

She was also felicitated in the function hosted by the Eastern India Cinetel Welfare Trust and a jewellery major. Veteran actor Santu Mukherjee was also felicitated.
