Actress Marcia Strassman dies

Actress Marcia Strassman, who is known for her roles in 'Welcome Back, Kotter' as well as comedy 'Honey I Shrunk the Kids' and its sequel 'Honey I Blew Up the Kids' with Rick Moranis, has passed away. She was 66.
Her sister Julie Strassman confirmed that the actress passed away on Friday, October 24 at her Sherman Oaks, California, home following a battle with breast cancer, reported Deadline.
"She was the funniest, smartest person I ever met. And talented. She knew everything. Now I won't be able to call her and ask her questions," the late actress' sister said.
Strassman's friend, 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' director Bob Weide, shared the sad news on Twitter.
"So sad that a sweet friend, kind person & wonderful actress Marcia Strassman lost her brave battle with cancer today," he wrote.

During her career in the entertainment industry, the Julie Kotter depicter on 'Welcome Back, Kotter' also took part on "M*A*S*H" as nurse Margie Cutler.
Her other credits included 2004's 'Third Watch', 'Tremors' and 'Providence' among others.
She was also a member on the national board of the Screen Actors Guild.
In addition to her sister, Strassman is survived by her daughter and brother Steven Strassman.
