Ad filmmaker booked for dowry harassment

Ad filmmaker Shwetab Chandra Verma was today booked on charge of harassing his wife for dowry after she lodged a complaint against him in Versova police station here.
Verma was booked under section 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the IPC, an official said.
According to the woman, Verma had been physically assaulting her since they got married in 2013 and demanding dowry, he said quoting the complaint.
Police are checking the veracity of the allegation made against Verma, he added.
