Ad-hoc teachers refuse to submit DU college students' reports

Six ad-hoc teachers of Delhi University's Swami Shraddhanand College have refused to submit the internal assessment of students for their respective subjects claiming that they haven't been paid salaries for over three months.
"The teachers who have been protesting against the non-payment of their salaries since past five weeks have been taking classes and evaluating assignments till date. But they will not be submitting the attendance and assessment reports till the payment of their salaries," said Manish Kumar, President, SSN College Teachers Association.
"Unfortunately around 500 students will have to suffer due to the decision," he said.
"The College Principal had cited shortage of funds as the reason behind non-payment of their salaries. According to the accounts department, the college has received a fund of Rs 10 lakh from the government, but still they haven't been paid," Kumar claimed.

The teachers have also sought intervention of the Vice Chancellor and the Governing Body (GB) chairman of the college, he said, adding, they will continue to protest till their demands are met.
The college's Principal Dr S K Kundra was not immediately available for comment.
