Adampur in Punjab was the coldest place in the two states with the minimum temperature recording at 2.6 degrees Celsius, a MeT Department official said here.
Amritsar, Bathinda and Faridkot also recorded below normal minimums at 4.2, 4.5 and 4.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
Halwara and Pathankot recorded their respective lows at 6.1 and 6.8 degrees Celsius.
However, the minimum temperature at Patiala (8 degrees Celsius), Gurdaspur (8 degrees Celsius) and Ludhiana (6.8 degrees Celsius) settled within the normal limit, the MeT official said.
In Haryana, Karnal was the coldest place at a low of 4 degrees Celsius, while Hisar recorded 4.2 degrees Celsius.

Cold weather conditions also prevailed in Rohtak and Bhiwani, where the minimum temperature settled at 7.7 and 6.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
However, Ambala recorded above normal minimum at 10 degrees Celsius.
Chandigarh, too, registered above normal low at 9.4 degrees Celsius.
