Adani Enterprises scrip jumps over 5% on smart Q1 results

Shares of Adani Enterprises today surged over 5 per cent, adding Rs 2,827 crore to its market valuation, after it reported profit after tax of Rs 557 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2014-15.
Stock of the flagship company of the Adani Group settled with a gain of 5.66 per cent at Rs 479.60 on the BSE. In the intra-day trade, it soared 7.21 per cent to Rs 486.65.
Adani Enterprises' scrip climbed 5.11 per cent to end the day at Rs 478.05 on the NSE.
The company's market value jumped Rs 2,826.89 crore to Rs 52,746.89 crore.
On the volume front, 6.96 lakh shares of the company changed hands at the BSE, while over 53 lakh shares were traded at the NSE during the day.
Adani Enterprises had on Saturday reported a profit after tax of Rs 557 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2014- 15, on the back of a 43 per cent jump in revenue.
It had posted a loss of Rs 278 crore in the same quarter of 2013-14.
Consolidated total income for the period increased by 43 per cent to Rs 16,524 crore as compared to Rs 11,547 crore in the same period last fiscal.
